3 coats of Bourjois So Laque in 'Rose Lounge'

I've recently been wanting a nice nude polish after my old one by Sephora ran out. After hearing that Kate Middleton wore this on her nails on her wedding day, I popped along to Boots and picked up this lovely pink nude polish! Hehe. I found the formula of this was very runny, but it is still easy to work with. The first coat of this was extremely sheer. It took about 2/3 coats for most nails to look opaque. Although there were some areas which looked a little uneven, I didn't think this mattered because the colour is pale and natural, so it wasn't obvious. I was impressed with how quickly each coat dried. After 3 coats, my nails were completely dry and didn't feel tacky, like some nail varnishes are after a few coats. This lasted well on the nails.

Do you like pale, nude colours on your nails?

xoxo, Joy

  7. I had this when i used to wear a lot of nude colours (we weren't allowed to wear nail polish at school, so i'd try and pull the wool over teachers eyes with these sort of shades. of course i would always get caught but it always took a few days until they noticed!). Now i just wear a lot of brighter colours. Seeing this post makes me want to buy another bottle! Its very pretty x

    @Lily - I agree, this could would be perfect for toned down events like that. Maybe everyone will follow Kate Middleton's lead and wear it at on their wedding day! xx

    @Tess - I don't own many nude colours either, but I think they're great staples especially if you can't decide what colour to have on your nails. xx

    @Jenny - Me too! Ooh, that sounds like a lovely colour. I love the name, so cute! xx

    @Gillian - I think this would be a great colour for summer too. It's a nice alternative from the stereotypical brights or pastels that people usually veer towards in the summer. xx

    @Eve Silviana - I really love it too! xx

    @Radiant.MakeUp - I never used to be either, but I'm converted! Hehe. xx

    @Lauren Rose - Did you buy it after the royal wedding too? I wonder how much the sales of this nail polish went up after the royal wedding! xx

    @Temporary:Secretary - Ooh, this would be the perfect subtle colour for school days. I love bright nail polishes, but there's something about nudes which makes me feel so grown up, lol. I would definitely recommend getting another bottle! :D xx

    @Tiffyama - Thank you xx

    @Michelle_ - I agree, it's such a pretty nude. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a nude! xx

    @GothamPolish - I really love the colour. Ooh, I didn't realise you couldn't get Bourjois in the US. Maybe look on eBay? No, I don't tend to use base coats unless I wear dark colours. xx
