Review: Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub

Sunday 3 February 2013

I picked up this lip scrub after much uhmming and ahhing. I always thought I could easily make one myself, but never got round to it. So I thought I'd bite the bullet and just buy this one from Lush. It smells like After Eight Chocolates, which I love! It is very easy to use and leaves my lips feeling soft and smooth. I have never found it to be too harsh or abrasive on my lips. Even though they say that you can lick the product off your lips, I remove this with a flannel or by rinsing. I also love how they have a little sticker at the bottom with the sell-by date and who made the product. This is fairly expensive at £5.25 for something that could easily be DIYed, however if you're lazy, like me, then this is definitely great for you. You only need a little each time, so it'll last ages.

How do you exfoliate your lips?

Thank you for reading. xoxo, Joy

  1. I've been meaning to make one of these myself but I know I'll never get around to it, so the next time I'm near a Lush I'm going to buy one! <3

    1. They're so great. Which ones have you used? I don't often lick the exfoliator off my lips, but it tastes pretty good :) x

  3. I had the pink bubblegum Lush lip scrub. I ended up throwing it away as it got soo messy and too sticky on the outside of the packaging :(

    1. Ahh, that's annoying that the packaging got all messy :( I guess that's a major downside of the little jar. x

  4. I've used the bubblegum one in the past but like you always thought it would be easy to make one yourself. I might actually DIY it tonight but Lush lip scrubs are so convenient!

    1. I agree. I think making one yourself would be quite satisfying and probably cheaper, but it might not taste as good ;) I also like that the Lush ones give you a best before date x

    1. They're great, especially for these wintery months! The Bubblegum one smells lovely. I almost bought it, but preferred Mint Julips a tiny bit more :) x

  6. I've got this! I'm a lazy girl so this does help flake away the dead bits on my lips. Although my only bone to pick with this product is that it dries out pretty quick. BAH! x

    1. Yeah, it's great for these wintery days, isn't it? Oh really? That's annoying! I wonder if there's any way of reviving it once it dries out? x
