Wardrobe Envy: Ashley Madekwe

Saturday, 9 June 2012

I haven't done a style crush post in a long time, so I have decided to do another one!

Today's Style Crush is the lovely Ashley Madekwe. I have been following her blog, Ring My Bell, for ages now and seriously love her outfit choices. Ashley's outfits always look so put together and chic. I love the way she mixes basics and neutrals with a pop of colour, whether it's a piece of clothing, a gorgeous bag, coloured nails or a bright red lip. These are just a few of Ashley's looks I have loved:

Has anyone else been watching Revenge? I saw the ad on E4 a few weeks before it aired and was intrigued, so I watched the first episode online, and then the next, and then the next... I managed to watch the whole season over the course of 2 or 3 consecutive days. Clearly I use my time well...! Anyway... Ashley's character, Ashley, has one of my favourite TV character wardrobes! Lots of nipped in waists, bright colours and I'm sure I spied a few Topshop pieces too.

Wardrobe Envy: Taylor Swift

Monday, 13 February 2012

After scrolling through numerous websites featuring pictures from the red carpet of the Grammys 2012, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful Taylor Swift's dress was! I've always liked Taylor's music, but never really paid much attention to her style so I decided to have a gander at some of her past outfit choices and subsequently fell in her love with her wardrobe.

The first thing I noticed after looking through pictures of Taylor is her trademark red lip, winged eyeliner and gorgeous curls. Taylor's casual day to day outfit choices always look cute and cool, while also looking comfortable and casual and she knows how to flatter her tall and slender frame. I like how she mixes high street with a touch of vintage and I've noticed that there are a few things that feature heavily in her every day outfit choices: the colours black and red, stripes, patterned dresses, nipped in waists and Wildfox Couture! A theme that runs through all her dresses for awards and premieres is glitz, glam and embellishment with simple accessories.

Wardrobe Envy: Kristen Stewart

Sunday, 27 November 2011

I went to see Breaking Dawn with my flatmate earlier this week. I generally enjoyed it and can't wait for the second instalment, because I want to see how the story ends (as I haven't read the books). If you've seen it, what did you think of it? I can't believe after the next film, it'll all be over! After watching the interview with the whole of the Twilight cast on the Ellen Show and seeing a gazillion Kristen Stewart/Bella Swan make-up tutorials pop up on Youtube, I was inspired to do a style crush post of Kristen Stewart.

While some people may be thinking 'Reeeally?!', I actually have to admit I genuinely like Kristen's style (most of the time). I love Kristen's casual style, as this is how I tend to dress. She tends to stick to blacks, greys and whites and always looks comfortable and casual. In my opinion, sometimes her event outfits are a bit questionable... But when she gets it right, it's spot on. I think Kristen generally opts for cocktail dresses and massive heels, although it seems like she tends to wear floor-length dresses to the Twilight premieres and doesn't stay in the heels for very long either, as there are pictures of her at the Breaking Dawn Part 1 Premiere in London signing autographs in her trainers!

Wardrobe Envy: Emma Watson

Sunday, 17 July 2011

I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on Friday and thought it was absolutely amazing! What did you all think of it? I can't believe after more than a decade, it's all over. Hello end of my childhood! But as Ingrid (MissGlamorazzi) said on Twitter: "Over a decade of magic, a lifetime of memories." Inspired by the film and all the recent photographs popping up from the premieres and photocalls, I thought an Emma Watson style crush post was appropriate.

At events Emma always has beautiful dresses and gorgeous shoes, while keeping jewellery to an absolute minimum. I love that the dresses are all so highly detailed and embellished that statement jewellery isn't required. I wasn't able to find many casual outfit pictures and some of the pictures above are a few years old. Regardless, Emma knows how to piece items together to form great outfits.

Wardrobe Envy: Frankie Sandford

I love Frankie's style and how she mixes high street (cough, that lovely red Zara dress) with beautiful designer bags and shoes. I love how her accessories aren't 'fussy' and that she keeps it nice and simple. There seems to be a trend in Frankie's casual wardrobe in that she wears jeans/denim a lot. This makes me want to break out of my leggings rut and wear jeans more! She always pairs them with cute shoes, a gorge bag and a mix of tops and jackets.

Wardrobe Envy: Emma Roberts

I remember googling Emma Roberts after I saw a picture of her in a gorgeous dress at the 'Valentine's Day' premiere and I've kept an eye on her style since then. I really love Emma's day to day outfits. They look casual and comfortable without being boring and unflattering. It looks like Emma generally sticks to the 'safe' options for appearances and awards, but manages to glam them up with gorgeous shoes, accessories and bags.

I've always liked Rachel Bilson's outfit choices. Her choices are always spot on. She knows how to flatter her petite figure and sticks to quite safe and simple options, while still looking amazing and making the clothes work for her.

Lauren Conrad's outfits always look effortless and so stylish. I love how she pairs simple items of clothing with a few accessories and a gorgeous, designer bag. I'm so jealous of her collection of Chanel bags!

Wardrobe Envy: Olivia Palermo

Sunday, 1 August 2010

Every time I see a picture of Olivia Palermo (Whether it's a candid, a screencap or at an event) I always think she looks flawless - her hair and make-up are always perfect and her outfits are always put together so well, with a lovely array of statement accessories and gorgeous bags. I threw in a picture of her and her model boyfriend, Johannes Huebl, for good measure, since he's awfully good looking. ;)

Wardrobe Envy: Alexa Chung

Thursday, 24 June 2010

All images are from tfs

I would be more than ridiculously happy if I could steal Alexa Chung's wardrobe. I love how Alexa mixes a combination of vintage, high street and designer and makes it work so effortlessly. She knows how to work her modelesque figure and I think it's great that she doesn't always conform to popular trends.

Who are your style crushes? I will post more of mine in the future. :)
