Topshop Cream Blush in Neon Rose vs. MAC Virgin Isle CCB
Neon Rose is part of Topshop's permanent make-up range, priced at £6 for 4g, while Virgin Isle was limited edition from the MAC Stylishly Yours collection, priced at £13.50 for 3.2g. Although correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it is a MAC pro product, so it would still be available after this collection has gone.
All photos were taken in natural daylight with no flash.

(I probably should have given the products a clean before I took photos, lol!)
As you can see, the two products don't look particularly similar in the pan. Virgin Isle is a lot brighter than Neon Rose. Neon Rose looks pinkier, while Virgin Isle has a more orangey-red tone.

Personally, I think the two products look very similar in these pictures. You can see that Virgin Isle is more pigmented than Neon Rose and you can see the different finishes of the two products - Neon Rose has a cream to powder formula, while Virgin Isle does not. But apart from that, I would say that they are dupes of each other.

What do you think? Are Neon Rose and Virgin Isle dupes or not?

Topshop make up is from the same company as MAC : )
ReplyDelete@Claire - Fair enough. I love Neon Rose too! At least I know that when Virgin Isle runs out, I can still buy something that looks similar :) xx
ReplyDelete@Dina - Oooh, I didn't know that! That would explain the similarities! xx
Wow, these do look really similar. Thanks for the swatches. I really, really wanted Virgin Isle when it came out but am trying to reign in my spending at the moment so it's great to know that Neon Rose is really similar and permanent so I can buy it when I actually NEED some new make-up! x
ReplyDeleteThey do look very similar esp. when it's blended :) Nice dupe!
ReplyDelete@Lily - I'm glad you agree that they look similar. That's ok :) Yeah, it's great that there's a permanent product that's the same colour as Neon Rose! I'll definitely be stocking up on that next time. xx
ReplyDelete@Lene - Thanks, I agree. It's more obvious when they're blended out. xx
Hi! New follower, I popped over from happy-happy joy-joy! :) I think they really do look similar! I will have a look for the Topshop one because it's actually a really pretty color! It would be soo pretty for spring and summer :)

@Prettyinthedesert - Aww, thank you for following :D I'd definitely recommend the Topshop one, it's a gorge colour and I love it so much!
ReplyDeleteOmgosh I love virgin isle. Good to know that there is a cheaper dupe for it out there!
ReplyDelete@Vida - I love it too and Neon Rose! Yeah, I'm glad I found the dupe because at least Neon Rose isn't LE or only available in pro stores. xx
